1 Apr 2011

ASTORIA, NY — In Queens, the most diverse county in the United States, Hsilgne (pronounced: si-LUNG-nay), is just another language spoken out of 170. Local residents could not care less.

Lifelong Queens denizen Nate demonstrates the usefulness of a Hsilgne command on Steinway Street. Passerbys were visibly unimpressed. “170 is too many,” complained Marge Logos, “It’s a real problem when I’m lost and need directions.” Hsilgne, a dialect spoken ritualistically by modern-day Wizards, resulted from the syncretic union of BabelCon speak and Linear A.
